One of the main reasons for not having many patents and inventions in Turkey is the low interest of students in science. Taking this fact as a starting point, Şenol Yıldız has started developing science projects in the schools he is assigned to and he finds entertaining ways for helping children like science.
After completing the projects ‘I am Touching Science, Having Fun and Learning’ and ‘My School is turning to a Science Center’, Şenol Yıldız is now travelling from village to village for his third project called ‘Let Science Enlight the Schools’. The project reached 1,500 children in 6 different village schools. Yıldız not only integrated teachers to this project, but also students who can practice the experiments successfully. As a result, the students gained self-confidence and started showing more interest on science. The students also found the opportunity to socialize with the students in village schools.
With the dream of changing the fact that students have little interest on science, Şenol Yıldız has developed various projects. He helped his students like science. He made schools with and without opportunities come together under the same project. While doing these, he encouraged friendship among students and led them learn the culture of sharing. He made a big difference in the lives of children in the schools he is teaching, as well as children in the village schools he is visiting.
