Itır Erhart Runs to Raise Money for Youth, Education, and Disability Projects
On 1 November 2009 Sabancı Foundation's "Turkey's Changemakers" program hosts Itır Erhart, a founding member of the Step by Step Association that mobilizes athletes to run marathons and raise funds for leading NGOs in Turkey.
Bilgi University faculty member Assistant Professor Itır Erhart is a founding member of the Step by Step Association established in 2007. The philosophy of "Step by Step" is that each individual has a responsibility in promoting social development and it is the whole of these contributions which raises the quality of life for all. They are very serious about their selection process and to date, have raised funds for the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey, Community Development Volunteers Foundation, and the Turkish Foundation for Spinal Injuries. Erhart's work in promoting civic participation has mobilized 3.400 people to make donations through "Step by Step", reaching 300.000 youth, children and persons with disabilities.
